Why would a UK employment tribunal want to hear this dispute?
An Employment Appeal Tribunal upheld Tuesday the right of journalist Saima Mohsin to pursue claims of discrimination and unfair dismissal against CNN’s international arm in England. How does this make sense when her employment contract was to be governed by U.S. law and most of her work took place in Asia?
Someone applied for a job to do research for the Law Commission. Apparently they refused to provide her with adjustments for her reduced vision during an online recruitment test. One would think that having very bad eyesight would preclude someone from being able to competently do research of legal documents. The job applicant decided to file a claim against the Law Commission for disability discrimination.
